About Us
Tava is the Sanskrit word for “your” – so, this is Your Yoga.
Welcome to Tava Yoga

My name is Lauren

My yoga journey began in 2007 and it wasn’t long before I could feel the enormous benefits of a regular yoga practice. The physical, emotional and spiritual changes are profound. Yoga has the amazing ability to change your body and your state of mind.
I undertook my Yoga Teacher Training in 2016. I was trained in the traditional Hatha Yoga style. I am also a Registered Level 1 Teacher with Yoga Australia, and a qualified Yoga Therapist.
And so, Tava Yoga was born. Tava is the Sanskrit word for “your” – so, this is Your Yoga.

My teacher inspired me to teach with empathy, respect and acceptance, welcoming each student as an individual and supporting them on their learning journey.

You will find that my style is warm, open and nurturing. My classes are created to cultivate balance in all aspects of your life.

I welcome you with open arms and will guide you to find that quiet, inner space, within your mind and soul.
Every day brings opportunities for me to learn and grow as a teacher and an individual. From reading, to training courses, to my greatest teachers: My students.

Your growth on the mat fills me great pride and joy.

Our Services
Hatha Yoga
Hatha yoga is a way of balancing and harmonising the Body, Mind and Emotions. The body and mind are in a state of constant interaction and the primary aim of yoga is to restore the mind to clarity and peace. With a regular practice, an awareness develops between the emotional, mental and physical levels in the body – helping to restore balance in both mind and body.
One of the main benefits of Hatha yoga, is the practice of breathing, helping to improve oxygenation of the body and reduce stress levels.
Asana practices (postures) and Savasana (relaxation) help with relaxation and strengthening the mind and body. Savasana is the first step in the practice of meditation. Good health results from perfect balance between body and mind, leading to a sense of physical and emotional well-being.
Each class generally consists of
-
Pranayama (Breathing Exercises)
-
Asanas (Postures)
-
Svasana (Relaxation)

Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy uses the teachings of yoga to assist an individual to ease suffering and discomfort.
Utilising the techniques of the ancient practices of yoga a therapist will listen to you, design a personal practice for you and set you up on the path towards wellbeing.
Importantly, a yoga therapy session is collaborative and empowering.
We welcome every body to our classes and programs. No matter your age, shape, fitness, flexibility or ability, you are welcome at Tava Yoga.
